Almissa

"[...] Slav., Omiš, a little town at the mouth of the Cetina and at the base of the conical Dinara (1841 ft.). Farther back towers the Borak (2835 ft.), crowned with the castle of Mirabella, once a notorious haunt of pirates. The neighbouring hills yield a famous muscatel wine, the 'Vino Mte. Rosa d'Almissa'. A visit to the *Cetina Waterfalls forms an interesting excursion from Almissa. (14 M.; carriage there and back in 6 hrs., 10 K.). [...] The falls may also be reached from Almissa by a bridle-path (4 hrs.), which passes through the grand Cetina gorge, via the mills of Visak" (p.303).
